An August evening, details to follow
The Penn Club
Art has been a key part of The Penn Club from the earliest days of The Club. Artworks have been donated to The Club through the years since The Penn Club was founded, including a portrait of William Penn that was given on permanent loan to The Club. Artists, too, have a strong relationship to the Club. Artists Elizabeth Lomas and Margaret Shaw both had works accepted by the Royal Academy summer show on a number of occasions while they were resident at The Club.
A Chance to Meet the Artist
As part of this year’s celebration, The Penn Club has created a new and dedicated art space in the corridor of no. 22 Bedford Place – between the dining room and television room.
This will be the venue of this unique opportunity to meet the artist behind the specially commissioned artwork that will be unveiled this summer. The evening’s talk and discussion will be an opportunity to talk about the artwork itself, its creation and the inspiration the artist drew on around The Penn Club’s founding ethos and history.
Be sure to reserve your tickets early for this unique event in the intimate art space. Tickets for this event will be limited in number, and so to make sure you don’t miss out, please contact The Penn Club to book your place and advise of any accommodation needs you may have.
